Just as our private IT sector prospers by working for the world while government IT systems remain stuck in the 1980s, defence R&D can grow by offering a cheaper cost structure for foreign militaries.KRnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8726844009873922462.post-48834526494581109292010-02-15T22:46:54.346-08:002010-02-15T22:46:54.346-08:00wtf is this guy talking. I don't see any thing wrong in the intent ...Hi

I don't see any thing wrong in the intent of Mr. Raju when he says that in the current scenario Private sector should not aim for cannibalising the Public Sector.

Certainly the larger idea is NOT to do the same work more efficiently BUT rather focus on the grey areas of Indian Manufacturing- which currently stands at 70% of our defense needs.

But even after articulating that thought, he seems pretty much unclear how he wants to achieve that. He still is waiting for the private sector to come to him- with a concrete proposal-rather than welcoming private sector with a clear long term policy.

Also he is non- committant and unclear about many critical issues- like FDI limit, funding R&D cost and exactly in which areas he wants the private sector to work?

And thats what is the biggest stumbling block for private sector. Our Politicians and beurocrats need to understand that difference in the way of working b/w PSUs and private sector and the different strings that pulls each of them.pratikchowdhury.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13432063577955003878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8726844009873922462.post-21652077585682982812010-02-15T18:08:13.624-08:002010-02-15T18:08:13.624-08:00Yes, I interviewed Mr Pallam RajuYes, I interviewed Mr Pallam RajuBroadswordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13076780076240598482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8726844009873922462.post-28628475657094754952010-02-15T18:00:23.289-08:002010-02-15T18:00:23.289-08:00Ajai,
An excellent series of articles! Remarkable...Ajai,

An excellent series of articles! Remarkable, and very necessary. Someone has to point out "ke daal mein kuch kala hai".

This sort of business as usual (or maybe VERY unusual) cannot go on much longer without either one of two things happening: 1). People get truly ticked off and hold officials accountable (fat chance?), or 2). We get our butts kicked in a limited or extended conflict & the failings/failures lead to indictments and severe consequences for the fat cats.

In any case - you've done a real yeoman's job on this one. I hope others pick up on your work and start to ask the right questions of the right people. The more the merrier, eh? ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8726844009873922462.post-34931016174173090302010-02-15T16:03:45.203-08:002010-02-15T16:03:45.203-08:00Every answer contradicts the previous answer. (you should read up on this i.e. f16 vs f/a 18 and how the 2 companies were vying to win over orders and on the way producing 2 of the worlds best systems). would like you to name any best product in the world that has no competition but only complements. you wouldnt get any.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8726844009873922462.post-20778366588568552022010-02-15T06:25:11.648-08:002010-02-15T06:25:11.648-08:00Raju talks in the typical mafia style, "You c...Raju talks in the typical mafia style, "You can do business but only if I want you to". This a clearcut case of Monopolistic and Restrictive Trade Practice. Also, side kick needs to answer what exactly is the R&D and innovation that his beloved DPSUs are bringing on the table. I would say zilch!! DPSUs are like giant vampire bats that produce third class products and suck tax payer's hard earned money down a black hole. In the name of manufacturing they import components from foreign locations and then assemble it.

Ajaiji, you should have asked him about the Sarvatra bridge laying system. That was developed by a private company so why is stoopid Antony still pushing for BEML when the entire IP belongs to L&T (and DRDO). The same BEML that can't even convert a left hand drive truck into right hand drive which auto mechanics sitting in a dingy garage can do.

Antony was quick to order the court martial of an army General in a land scam but his own actions tantamount to treason. Who is going to court martial him? It is hard to believe that we have such dim wits at the helm of affairs for a billion people. God save India! Brace yourself for more terror attacks.AKhttp://ak47.yahoo.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8726844009873922462.post-38843657039583919042010-02-15T02:20:42.662-08:002010-02-15T02:20:42.662-08:00The Ministry's main purpose is to provide the ...The Ministry's main purpose is to provide the best equipment to our forces. If the best equipment is provided by the Public sector it need to be selected, else if the best equipment is provided by the Private sector then it need to be provided by the private sector. Also the public sector must not import private stuff from foreign companies and pass it as public one. That's like backstabbing our forces and the people of India.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8726844009873922462.post-47996239661262826022010-02-15T00:44:50.498-08:002010-02-15T00:44:50.498-08:00Then how can either be COMPETITIVE?Then how can either be COMPETITIVE?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
