Armour plates for the WSI-Dhruv?
Armour plates for Dhruv
Hi Col Ajay,The panels in the photograph are collar members of an attachment system for assembly of aircraft and similar large scale mechanical assemblies. Collars are fed sideways along a tube having a rectangular internal cross-section to a collar pathway defined by a clamp fork and swaging ram combination. The collar pathway is curved to present the collar to a receiving element mounted on a swaging die in a proper orientation relative to an attachment bolt which is moved through an opening in the workpiece and then through the collar. As the bolt is moved into the collar, the collar, receiving element and swaging die move together laterally to come into alignment with the bolt. Did it make any sense to you? The puzzle is not easy as there is no clue. Your readers will find it difficult to even guess. It can be anything under the sun. Take it this way. Tell me why, they can not be “Ceramic insulated Bolt on Panels (BoP) for a Mach3 aircraft under development”? Are you puzzled? Well that was the aim.NRP
Seems like the armour on the nose of HAL Dhruv.

Sir, I have a request... can you please only post those pictures which you were able to figure it yourselves inherently. Some of your puzzles are indeed great.. however this feels like being in an interview where the guy wants to tell you how much he knows without trying to understand how much you know...ne ways
Very well said Anonymous 01:25.That is what I would like to convey to Col Ajay too. People reading this blog are not into building fighters. You cant just place few plates and bolts and ask them to name it and then call it a quiz. This is ridiculous!!
THE CORRECT ANSWER IS: These are armoured bullet-proof panels that are provided with the Dhruv Mark III helicopters to the army and the IAF. These 11 panels, which together weigh about 70 kgs, are bolted onto the bottom and sides of the Dhruv. The armoured panels have been developed by DMRL, Hyderabad. They are integrated by Taneja Aerospace.NOBODY GETS A GOLD STAR.
