What carbine is that? Take a guess....

For afficionados of small arms... guess that carbine's make, calibre, bore and attachments. One Gold Star and two Brownie Points for the best assessment.

Ajai, apart from insas and its variants, does india produce any guns? There are hundreds of gun types made in the US. What about india?

we have been seeing it for the last 6 years.......god knows how many more years are they going to take to start the serial production.
Hope this is not going to become an other arjun when our army tests this.
all the best DRDO.

Think ,it needs an extra butt for stability and to avoid muscle climb.

Anonymous said...

But Ajai, you don't know to hold it in correctly. This is the way to hold the gun. New style.

You folks, I must admit, are way ahead of the curve. There's only one thing that everyone is wrong on. The MARS sight is manufactured by Alpha Design in Bangalore. They have a JV with ITL.

Anonymous 19:31

Hilarious! That's called the classic South Block undergrip. Prevents the foldout butt from folding into one's butt.

Sanket:

I'm not pointing towards the gentleman in the suit. I'm pointing way to his left. It's the two-dimensional photo that makes it seem that way.

Rahul

There is nothing called the F-INSAS gun.

The Modern Sub Machine Carbine / MSMC submachine gun with optional Israeli-made ITL MARS red dot sight installed on the Picatinny rail.

Col. Shukla,

In the top-right corner of the second photo, there is a poster on something called the "Multi Calibre Individual Weapon System".

Do you have a close-up of that poster or any details about this MCIWS? To me it looks like a successor to the INSAS assault rifle with modular add-ons: the 40mm UBGL is discernible as well as some kind of thermal sight.

Prateik Fernandes said...

it's the MSMC. Ajay sir could you please tell as to why it has not been inducted yet?
Also is the Tavor/Zittara manufactured by the OFB?

[b]Its one of the perfectly developed but Systematically Rejected weapon's platform that would follow the same path as 100's of other platforms........Thanks to the big money involved in foriegn deals and Thanks to US VISA's to Babu's Sons and Son In Laws.......

Jindagi me Ek baar bhi desh ke baare me socho yaar! Why does it have to be "YOU" all the time and not the NATION at least once in a life time......
Think of it!

Are you not supposed to keep both eyes open while using a reflex sight?
Supposed to be one of its main advantage; of retaining a greater field of vision.

I want my gold star and brownie points. I would like the points to be transferable to the nearest bakery. Thank you very much.

Ajai do you have the pics of the posters behind?

Very interesting details in those!!

Anonymous said...

its a american m series gun was under trial for the past 2 years possibly a m-15 or 16 with limited licsense

Ra said...

Perhaps some carbine version of Kalantak.

Simranjit Singh said...

That's MSMC Sir....

Please post the details of your visit...
Is the Army inducting those ??

Anonymous said...

Looks good, and I hope the specifications are as good as a comparable import. Just one comment: Does the grip seem odd? It seems to bend forward; this has to put a lot of strain on the operator's wrist. I hope they change this if and when this weapon hits full production.

abciacovert said...

definitely a MSMC

Re Ajai

Any possibility of high resolution pics of the background posters?

Anonymous said...

That is MSMC . I am informed that it shoots also. I am also informed that the Armed Forces are not too keen. They trust the HK series.
